1. Introduction
This Return Policy ("Policy") explains how Z&Z Auto Sales ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") handles vehicle returns, cancellations, and related requests. This Policy applies to purchases made at our dealership and, where applicable, to inquiries or deposits submitted through zz-auto-sales.com (the "Site").
Please read this Policy carefully before completing a purchase. Vehicle sales are different from most retail purchases, and understanding your rights and our practices in advance helps avoid confusion after a sale is finalized.
2. "As-Is" Vehicle Sales — No General Right of Return
Unless a vehicle is expressly sold with a written warranty or service contract, all vehicles are sold "AS-IS — NO WARRANTY." This means the selling dealer does not provide a warranty for any repairs, and the buyer bears the entire cost of any repairs needed after purchase, except as required by applicable state law.
Federal law requires every used vehicle offered for sale to display a Buyer's Guide in a window of the vehicle. This Buyer's Guide reflects the warranty terms (if any) that apply and overrides any contrary provisions in your sales contract. Please review the Buyer's Guide for the specific vehicle before completing your purchase.
Once a sale is finalized and the vehicle has been delivered, there is no general right to return the vehicle or receive a refund simply because the buyer changes their mind, finds a lower price elsewhere, or is dissatisfied with the vehicle's performance, unless the vehicle was sold with a specific warranty covering the issue in question, or unless applicable law provides otherwise.
3. Vehicles Sold with a Warranty
Some vehicles may be sold with a manufacturer's remaining factory warranty, a certified pre-owned (CPO) warranty, or a third-party service contract purchased at the time of sale. If your vehicle includes such coverage:
- Repairs for covered components should be requested through the applicable warranty or service contract provider, following the claims process described in your warranty documentation;
- A warranty does not entitle you to return the vehicle for a refund — it entitles you to repair or replacement of covered components, subject to the warranty's terms, exclusions, and deductibles;
- Warranty terms, including coverage duration, covered components, and claim procedures, are described in the documents provided to you at the time of sale. Please retain these documents for your records.
4. Deposits & Order Cancellations
If you have placed a deposit to hold a vehicle, reserve an incoming unit, or initiate a special order:
- Refundable holding deposits placed to reserve a vehicle prior to purchase are generally refundable if you cancel before the sale is finalized, unless otherwise stated in writing at the time the deposit is taken;
- Order/special-order deposits for vehicles being sourced or built to specification may be non-refundable once the order has been placed with the manufacturer or supplying dealer, as disclosed at the time the deposit is collected;
- All deposit terms will be disclosed to you in writing before you make a payment. If a deposit is non-refundable, this will be clearly stated on your receipt or order form.
To request a refund of a deposit, contact us using the information in Section 11 and reference your order or reservation number.
5. Financing Contingency ("Spot Delivery")
In some cases, a vehicle may be delivered to you before your financing is fully and finally approved by the lender (commonly known as a "spot delivery" or "yo-yo sale," conducted under a conditional delivery agreement). If your financing is not ultimately approved on the original terms:
- We will contact you to arrange alternative financing terms, a different down payment, or return of the vehicle;
- If you elect or are required to return the vehicle because financing could not be finalized, any trade-in vehicle will be returned to you in its original condition (or, if unavailable, its cash value will be refunded), and any related paperwork will be unwound in accordance with your conditional delivery agreement and applicable state law;
- You will not be charged for reasonable use of the vehicle during a valid financing contingency period unless otherwise permitted by your signed agreement and applicable law.
6. Returns Due to Misrepresentation or Fraud
If you believe a vehicle was sold to you based on a materially false statement about its condition, history, mileage, or title status, please contact us immediately. We take such concerns seriously and will investigate in good faith. Depending on the outcome of our review, remedies may include repair, partial refund, vehicle exchange, or rescission of the sale, consistent with applicable consumer protection law.
7. State & Lemon Law Rights
Some states provide additional rights to buyers of used vehicles beyond what is described in this Policy, including but not limited to:
- Statutory rescission or cancellation rights in narrow, specific circumstances defined by state law;
- "Lemon laws," which typically apply primarily to new vehicles but may extend limited protections to used vehicles still under a manufacturer's original warranty;
- Title and odometer disclosure requirements that provide remedies if information was inaccurately disclosed at the time of sale.
Nothing in this Policy is intended to limit, waive, or reduce any right or remedy available to you under the laws of your state. If any provision of this Policy conflicts with applicable law, the applicable law will control.
8. Parts, Accessories & Merchandise
Parts, accessories, or branded merchandise purchased separately from a vehicle (for example, through our parts counter or website) may be returned within 30 days of purchase, provided the item is unused, in its original packaging, and accompanied by proof of purchase. Special-order parts, electrical components that have been installed, and clearance items are not eligible for return. Please contact us before returning any part to confirm eligibility and obtain return instructions.
9. How to Request a Return or Cancellation Review
If you believe your situation qualifies for a return, refund, or cancellation under this Policy, please:
- Contact us using the information in Section 11 as soon as possible;
- Provide your name, the vehicle identification number (VIN) or order number, the date of purchase, and a description of your request;
- Include any supporting documentation, such as your sales contract, Buyer's Guide, warranty documents, or repair estimates.
We will review your request and respond within a reasonable time. Please note that submitting a request does not guarantee that a return, refund, or cancellation will be approved.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Return Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. This Policy applies to vehicles and items purchased after the effective date shown above; purchases made prior to that date are governed by the policy in effect at the time of sale, as stated in your original sales documents.
